Peer Review Process

The review process usually takes no longer than 4 weeks, and concentrates on the following:

1. The structure of the study

2. The content of the study

3. The language of the study

The submitted works are evaluated on a scale of 1 to 10, and an average of 7 would be usually regarded as satisfactory. (The authors might be required to complete the necessary revisions)

JFLET uses the Turnitin and iThenticate plagiarism-detection services. Each submitted manuscript is checked for originality. Manuscripts with similarity over 25% are automatically rejected or sent back to the authors for revision. Plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the author’s own work, in whole or in part without proper citation is not tolerated by the journal.

The authors of the articles retain copyright of their papers and can republish them in other ways, making reference to its original publication in JFLET.


Publication Frequency

Journal of Foreign Language Education and Technology (JFLET) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal which is devoted to the interests of undergraduate and graduate students who provide academic data to professionals, students and staff in local and global education settings. The journal has a broad scope incorporating the following sections.

Research Articles, Review Articles, Book Reviews, Educational Materials
Topics of interest in these sections include, but are not limited to, research into the following:

  • Education
  • Foreign/Second Language Learning/Teaching
  • ICT
  • Educational Material Development

JFLET will publish two regular issues each year (February and August), with submissions being published online as soon as they successfully complete the reviewing and editorial processes.

JFLET may also publish a special issue devoted to refereed papers presented at the international conferences. Conference papers undergo the same double-blind review process with the same review criteria as do regular papers. Papers in the special issue will not be published until after the conference.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.



This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
